Treasure Hunting ‘Scavengers’ Reunite Woman With Engagement Ring She Lost In Ocean At Rockaway Beach

Pure joy was caught on camera as the “Scavengers” reunited Gina Bopp with her engagement ring. Bopp was enjoying time at Rockaway Beach with friends Monday. “Her son got caught in a wave, so I went to go grab him, and I felt my ring sliding off my finger,” she told CBS2’s Vanessa Murdock. She searched the surf and shore for eight hours with no luck. “I went on Amazon and bought a fake one because I thought there’s no way I’m going to get another one,” Bopp said. She reached to Merrill Kazanjian, of Metal Detecting NYC. He helped her search Tuesday morning. “It was an opporutnity to reconnect somebody with a moment in their lives,” he said.

    Man metal detecting on Texas beach finds couple’s lost ring


    A Texas man walking a beach with his metal detector came to the rescue of a distraught couple whose engagement ring was lost in the water. Karen Bolmanskie said her husband was metal detecting Monday on Crystal Beach when he was approached by a couple who asked for his help. The couple said the woman’s engagement ring had fallen off her finger during a game of volleyball in the water.

      Missing ring buried for nearly four decades found by metal detectors


      A family heirloom lost for nearly four decades was dug up this weekend. Mom, from Cookeville, and Dad, from Springfield, met at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville in 1942,” son Todd Jarrell tells News 2. Bill Jarrell and his wife were married in 1945, just as Jarrell graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point. It was there he received his class ring.
